Carbon Bonded Carbon Fibre
Rigid Thermal Insulaton for Vacuum & Atmosphere Controlled Furnaces
Calcarb has extensive machining facilities and can supply cylinders, discs, boards and special shapes to suit most furnace lining configurations. Coated and foiled products are all re-fired prior to despatch and can also be halogen purified to total ash level of <20ppm.
Calcarb's product acts as heat shield (i.e. insulation lining) with very refractory properties. It is capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 3000°C. It is chemically inert except under oxidising atmospheres above 450°C, and certain gases at higher temperatures.
Crystalline Growing
It is manufactured by a process that eliminates outgassing under vacuum conditions (all Calcarb's base material is fired to 2000°C and outgassed under vacuum). It has a very low thermal conductivity value, and its thermal and erosion resistance can be enhanced by coating with graphitised foil, graphitised paint or specialist high density coatings applied by CVD process.
